Bike trip 2006: Blue Mound State Park

After getting soaked by the rain, we used electric hand dryers in the restrooms to get our clothes dry again.

After 1 hour the clothes were dry and it was time to look for a place to eat.

The Grumpy Troll had all we needed to re-charge our batteries.

Megan's tent. I have never seen such a camping place before.

Mount Horeb has a nice Swedish coffee shop, where we made a stop.

In this park we stopped for dinner ...

... dry round things, but together with water it's not so dry anymore.

Ready to bike the last 5 miles home.

We went on an adventure. It was Megan’s first bike trip that involved carrying everything--a tent, sleeping bag, stove, food, clothing, rain gear... We got caught in some serious rain and Megan’s pack fell off and someone sent their mean dog out on us, and somehow we biked off of the map and were lost... but we turned around and made it back onto the
map and it wasn't too cold and there wasn't any thunder or tornados. Our lifesaver was a restroom that looked like a Norwegian church--it had electric hand driers which we spent an hour using the hot air to dry all of our stuff and get warm. Then we went to the Grumpy Troll Brewery and Restaurant in Mt. Horeb, WI (about 15 miles from Madison) and when we came out the sun greeted us! We only had another 5 miles uphill to Blue Mound State Park where there were hot showers and nice wooded campsites. Sunday the sun was out the entire day and it was so warm we were in shorts.
